AMSOIL / Lovell Racing Finds Success and Frustration in Bark River
Colorado Springs, CO 7/22/14 - There's no doubt that the AMSOIL / Lovell Racing team got a mixed bag of results this weekend at the latest TORC stop in Bark River, MI.  A good effort in qualifying yielded a podium finish on Saturday but Brad once again had bad luck Sunday when contact with another vehicle caused a flat. Any way you look at it though, racing at Bark River is a centerpiece of TORC and it is impossible to leave the track without a smile.

Lovell qualified 4th both days and with some luck in the invert, had pole position both days. "I got a good jump on Sat and took the lead. I was running hard but it was slick!" recalled Lovell, "I was fighting for everything I was worth and the track was getting really potholed. It's like a ballet in a minefield. I caught one and it upset the truck enough that a couple guys got by but I kept it on the wheels and pulled off a 3rd place. We are after wins but in the pro-light field, any trip to the podium feels like we are doing our job!"

The team fine tuned the truck for the expected track conditions Sunday where Lovell instantly  started battling in the front of the pack. Unfortunately, a tire started loosing air and Lovell was forced to pit. "It is absolutely frustrating. Contact happens but we just keep getting the short end of the stick." The pit crew was really on their game and got Lovell out on the lead lap and a chance for some much needed points. With patience, good spotting, and determination, Lovell passed 14 trucks to move into 8th place for the finish. "It could have been a lot worse after the flat and it was some awesome racing moving up through the pack! 8th is not what we want but the team was great, the truck is getting faster every weekend and I feel good about my effort. We're letting the bad luck brush off and getting this thing tuned for Sturgis!"

The next race is August 5th & 6th during the Sturgis Bike Rally at the Legendary Buffalo Chip Campground. The team will then depart for Crandon International Raceway and the Dirt Riot race there on August 8th-10th.
